This wine, a Saint-Emilion interpretation of Riesling and a nod to Olivia Alloin’s Alsace origins, is sourced from the great Saint-Emilion Grand Cru appellation terroirs.
The échalas-trained vines are planted on three plots of 10 ares (a quarter of an acre) made up of clay and limestone, stretching from the foot of the Saint-Emilion slopes across a superb terrace.
Orfèvre du Val, a unique white wine vinified with the savoir-faire of a master craftsman, offers a magical tasting experience with extremely refreshing aromas of white flowers and fruits.

Color: magnificent yellow gold color. Nose: delicate, with papaya and citrus fruit flavours (bergamot, grapefruit), followed by honeysuckle notes. Palate: smooth, well-balanced, with a nice fruitiness in a tasty texture and good acidity. Pairing: goat's cheese, fresh or matured. Comments: a nice blink of an eye to the Alloin family's origins.
The 2020 is similarly a well integrated package, perhaps even a notch in quality above the previous year—with aromas of mandarin and lime, and good integration of acidity, texture and flavor in a delicious juice with a beautiful mouth feel. Both owners and the Director of Operations David Liorit thought carefully when they were asked, then wisely suggested pairing their Riesling with goat cheese.
